  • Description

I'm incredibly grateful for my beautiful life and wonderful family in Massachusetts. I'm also thankful for every opportunity I get to spend time in Florida, visiting my best friend and beloved godson (the adorable little man in my profile photos). I believe that family is the most priceless possession and travel is the most valuable investment. My goal is to visit all 50 US States, each of the seven continents, and as many countries as possible in my lifetime! While I love travel in all forms, travel with authentic cultural immersion has blessed me with the most profound, enlightening, and transformative experiences of my life thus far. That is why I am thrilled by the opportunities presented by work exchange programs.

Exploring new places, connecting with kind-hearted people, embracing different cultures, learning languages, appreciating nature, and photographing beautiful corners of the world all bring me a great sense of happiness and fulfillment. I am fueled by my joie de vivre - and I strive to always positively impact the communities I am lucky enough to visit/be a part of.

  • More details about your skills

I've been fortunate to live and work in several places - working in a diverse array of jobs has gifted me with a unique and expansive skill set. Through these many experiences, I have discovered that my true passion is helping others. I take pride in my strong communication and interpersonal skills. I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I am hard-working, responsible, compassionate, enthusiastic, and respectful.

I was born and raised in a small town near Boston (Massachusetts, USA) - so my native language is English. I also speak Spanish, thanks to two summers studying abroad and living with a host family in Costa Rica! My good work ethic was instilled at a young age from helping with my family businesses (daycares and toy stores) and assisting neighbors with babysitting.

I have spent the past ten years, the majority of my professional life, in the field of education. From preschool teacher, public school substitute teacher, and camp counselor turned lead instructor, to behavioral therapist and driving academy instructor - I have experience with every age group and have enjoyed each and every one of my jobs working with kids.

Mixed in with my experiences in education, I have worked as a retail customer service representative, restaurant hostess, independent sales consultant, website curator, and security monitor. I also have a mixology certificate and a little bartending experience.

I am a very neat and organized person, so I often take a lead role in keeping things clean and tidy, both in the home and work environments.

My love of learning makes it joyful to try new hobbies and rewarding to acquire new skills! So I am always open to something novel - I approach challenges with a teachable mindset and positive attitude.

  • What else ...

In my personal life, I enjoy walking around a new city and adventures in nature just as much as I enjoy staying in for games, movies, or music with good company.

I love yoga, animals/caring for my pets, meditation, writing, playing tennis, videography, surfing, and horseback riding.

As a child, I enjoyed helping my Mom grow summertime tomatoes in Massachusetts. As an adult, I enjoyed having my own little succulent garden on my balcony in California.
