Description
I am passionate about the environment, education and travel. I love being outside and experiencing the fresh air, and isolated places in the world. As a result I have spent time working in India on tiger research, Gambia on mangrove and tree re-forestation projects, New Zealand on organic farming projects and horticulture policy, and most recently in Guyana in an indigenous savannah village as a environment and science educator in a local primary school.
I am also a certified Divemaster, and have worked on and off in the dive industry in Sri Lanka and Boston.
I look to travel with Workaway due to the deep connections I can make, and the hands-on skills I get to learn via the amazing experiences this platform offers!
You can expect me to be a hard worker, adventurous, and someone who likes to get sweaty and their hands dirty. I rarely refuse a challenge and love pushing myself to new limits, but also enjoy a balance with moments of peace and connection.

More details about your skills
I have quite a bit of experience working with children having worked at a child playspace facility for nearly 3 years, and as a science/environment teacher at a primary school in Guyana for 10 months.
Additionally, I have extensive knowledge about biology and the environment as I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from MIT, with great interest in marine life and marine conservation.
I enjoy cooking a lot and would like to say am a good chef. My love for biology transcends just the technical, as I particularly enjoy creating anything fermented having crafted Kimchi, Yogurt, Kefir and Dosa/Uttapam batter from scratch. My love for fermentation carries over to loving anything to do with composting, soil microbiology and diversity, hence why I am interested in pursuing farmstead opportunities.
I am a fluent French speaker and a beginner Spanish speaker and am eager to practice either one of those two languages.
Love any sort of manual labor jobs that keep me fit, heavy lifting and my heart pumping. I also adore Yoga, especially vinyasa flows and am always happy to find people to do it with!
