Description
Hello! My name is Kalliana. I am a 20-year-old university student from Providence, Rhode Island, USA studying Sustainable Agriculture and Marine Affairs. I am currently planning a trip for December 2025 - January 2026 around the France / Switzerland / Germany / Luxembourg / Belgium region. This will be my last extended opportunity to travel before graduating from university this May, and I would love to engage in a true cultural exchange!
Some more background on me:
- I absolutely love to travel! I did not grow up traveling, but spent last summer WWOOF'ing on an organic farm in Northern Italy and backpacking around central Europe. I also have done my fair share of road-tripping around the USA! I love meeting new people, learning about different ways of living, sharing my experiences, developing my language skills, getting out into nature, and exploring new cities!
- I have spent 6+ years in childcare, working with groups of up to 6 children ages 2 months to 13 years! I absolutely adore kids (especially little ones) and love being able to help them learn and grow. I have worked in a variety of settings: as a full-time nanny for twin babies assisting with cooking and cleaning; as a late-night babysitter for primary-school-aged boys; as an after-school caregiver helping with transportation, schoolwork, and extra-curricular activities; and more!
- I am an avid cook! I have a gluten allergy, but do not let this get in the way of my creativity in the kitchen! I typically follow a plant-based diet (but do have a soft spot for nice cheeses) and make a variety of cuisines.
- I am very accustomed to adaptable living environments. I have lived in more than 6 places with multiple different roommates, as well as in Workaway-like set-ups. I am very clean and know how to respect my surroundings! -
