Hello! Joy here....

I have always had a strong yearning for travel, new places, new faces, and learning new things. I typically move every 6 months so I enjoy adjusting to new environments. My values shine in relationships with those around me, nature, simple living, and solitude. I'm from a small town in Alaska so I'm used to some hardy living! I've also found myself on four, 25 day or more river trips, so I love me some type 2 fun. I've been to Europe, SE Asia, New Zealand, and most recently South America in the country of Bolivia.

I’m exploring around Arizona and Southern California this winter and I truly look forward to seeing what Workaway opportunities are out there!

I love working outside and working with my hands whether it's hammering nails, running a chainsaw or digging around in a garden. I haven't spent a great deal of time with farm animals but am very interested in learning! I know some about auto mechanics and would love to expand my skills. Making delicious meals with a lot of color is my jam and I enjoy collaborating with others in the kitchen as well. Also an expert organizer, de-clutterer, cleaner! --give me a messy space and I love to improve it. I love kids and teaching them new things, and have experience working with youth with behaviors. I've coexisted with 12-16 people before in extremely rural places for 25 days or more --I find that the camaraderie and the "village" style of living in these settings feed my soul. With that, I have the ability to adapt to new and changing environments, while integrating my personality and knowledge! :)
