Description
Hello! My name is Jordan Eisen, and I am a student at Northwestern University, nearby Chicago. I have lived in the US my whole life, and barely traveled until university. In college, however, I have sought out opportunities to take trips to several countries and have loved every single one.
Most of my travel came when I studied abroad from August to December 2024. This is also when I got hooked on traveling. I lived in Madrid, Spain and fell in love with it and loved meeting people there. I also was able to travel to 10+ other countries and cities with friends over weekends and short breaks, but I never experienced the same cultural immersion that I got from living in Spain.
In my time studying abroad, I knew I wanted more immersive experiences. I made lots of friends at hostels, and they suggested Workaway for immersive experiences and to meet more people. I have a gap in 2026 between graduating university and beginning my job from around March until September. I'm super excited to try something new!

More details about your skills
I am currently a student at Northwestern University, where I study Economics and Journalism with a minor in Data Science. I have lots of formal academic experience in these fields and a broad liberal arts education, but I'll take this time to talk more about my more practical and physical skills. I am fluent in English and would love to teach it. I also know a little Spanish, Latin, and Hebrew.
In summer 2021, I participated in a rotational program at an overnight summer camp. There were 4 rotations over 10 weeks. First, I worked in an industrial kitchen, washing dishes for every meal, sweeping and mopping, and setting all tables. Second, I was tasked with various jobs, from weeding and planting flowers to administrative tasks. Third, I operated belays for the climbing tower. And fourth, I cleaned all bathrooms; vacuumed, swept, and mopped various buildings; and ensured cabin cleanliness. Although these tasks don't sound too desirable, I had the time of my life meeting new people and doing these jobs together.
My parents also own a dog sitting business in which we have 5-10 dogs in our house everyday. Starting as a young child, I helped feed, walk, and clean up after the dogs and still do whenever I'm at home.
Ultimately, I have practice with a medley of domestic tasks but am also super flexible and happy to help in any way you might need!

What else ...
I love sports of all kinds, staying active, and learning. I also enjoy some time relaxing, of course: Playing board games and watching TV.
I am passionate about climate change and want to learn more about sustainability and gain practice in that area. I am also very happy-go-lucky/easygoing but also driven and have a strong work ethic. I am always happy to help out with whatever's needed! I am excited to make new friends and make a difference in this world!
