  • Description

Update: I have been in France for over a year and I'm looking to visit a country in the EU and Artic Circle. I would like to see the Aurora and midnight sun, as well as explorer the, frozen lakes, snowy hills and forests. If possible in a longer stay so I learn the ways of the North. For now I'm at a work away close to Poitiers.
    ---------
I went in France for a 1 week holiday, and well it has turned into a 1 year stay, where I ended up exploring and discovering myself and my preferencs in many things. I also met Ulani, which was companion met while travelling and we explored the beautiful French villages and cities, while both of us are improving and learning the French language.

I like physically demanding tasks and don't shy away from labour. The most attractive life is on a farm or in a countryside village, not so much the city life. I love to prepare firewood, gardening, taking care of farm animals, farming and even construction. I used to work in IT and like to change to experiment and test, and try new things and ideas. I consider myself to be hard working and diligent, and sometimes quiet resourceful.

The photos on my profile are from the different works done at different workaways.

Exercise is part of my daily routine, 7 days a week. Early morning runs are the best, frequent bike rides or swimming when in season or the conditions are favourable.

I can cook, although usually I prefer to prepare simple meals. Ulani was the Chef.

I'm quite knowledgeable about geography, history and technology and quite open to discuss the controversial topics, like politics, religion, social values, moral and ethics, and the 'but why' questions that children usually and appropriately ask.

If you asked me how I got into being interested in knowing such things, the answer would usually end up being Google, Wikipedia, HOI4, EU4 or ETW. I used to be an avid PC gamer (I dare you to ask me about my specs).

The advise given to me a few years ago, that helped me in the tough times: if you're anxious, get busy.

  • More details about your skills

Studied for a National Diploma in computer engineering.
Than worked in IT for around 10 years.
During the last 2 years I have been travelling around Europe. I met many kinds of people. Some of them make you talk and open up for hours, some make you think and reconsider lots of things.

Overall I learned a skillset, not gained from school.

The most fun was actually, how to find and burn firewood. Chop and saw trees, cut and split the logs.

I helped in building a mezzanine, we had to chizzel some very hard stone, and prepare wooden beams, sand them, and varnish.

Helped in reinforcing the beams of a collapsed ceiling.

Insulated a roof and ceiling, that we had to make the glue for.

Also I now consider myself an expert in how to disassemble a wooden pallet from all its planks and remove all the nails in 1 - 2 mins per pallet.

Learned how to cut branches from plants and trees, for gardening.

There are other outside and forest skills that I learned, for example a mushroom called 'amadu' (thats the phonetic pronunciation), when dried it's very good as kindling to start a fire.
