  • Description

    Hello!
I'm a Canadian university student currently studying abroad. I'm friendly and on the quieter side, and in my spare time I like to read, walk or hike, and explore the local areas when I'm travelling. I enjoy learning about traditional crafts, such as knitting and embroidery, and am currently teaching myself crochet and bobbin lacemaking.
I grew up with three younger siblings in a big city, and am hoping to experience rural life and practise more sustainable living.

  • More details about your skills

I'm a fluent English speaker. I don't teach but am happy to talk and help develop your conversational skills.
I'm an excellent vegan and vegetarian cook, and familiar & competent with shared housework and necessary chores.
I don't have any particular expertise with outdoor tasks, but I'm young, strong, and a quick study. I worked at a garden centre in my teens, and grew up helping in the yard, so weeding and tending a garden is very familiar. I've helped with building and repair jobs around my home, so am familiar with the use of basic power tools.

  • What else ...

I'm a history student particularly interested in domestic and 'small' history. If you have any regional crafts, special tools, or styles of working/farming, I would be especially happy to learn about it. As a student, I have access to online databases and journals, and I'm also proficient in doing research. If you would like help finding out more about the specific history of craft and traditions in your region, I am more than happy to aid with this.
