Hello, my name is Jess! I am an American looking to learn new skills and experience new places.

I am a curious and hard-working person and have spent most of my professional career in visual arts and website design. I have done a previous workaway project involving permaculture gardening. I also have several years of experience in hospitality, community work, arts&design, and childcare. I am passionate about nature, animals, and health, and I would love to learn more about sustainable gardening and growing my own food.

I bring a warm, open-minded presence and enjoy reading, running, doing yoga and pilates, and drawing. I am most excited about spending my free time exploring host locations and building new community!

I grew up gardening with my mother and can weed, prune, pot and transplant plants. I have also helped her with harvesting her small vegetable plot for several years.

I love to cook (and especially bake) and am quite capable in food preparation. I would love to learn about new cuisines and other ways of making!

I am very comfortable around animals and would be excited by any opportunity involving animal care.

I am very tidy and good with any sort of housework.

I spent a year as a Montessori teacher to children age 1.5-3 years and am very comfortable with child care.

I love to be outdoors, swim, run, hike, etc.! I love fresh produce, especially cherry tomatoes and sweet potatoes. My favorite pastimes are reading and going to the movies!
