Description
We are a family of three -- Janet, Walt and our daughter Masha who is 9. We love being outdoors and doing practical projects especially with ecological impacts. Walt's job will mean he's a part-time participant when we travel. We'd like to lend a hand to your efforts, speak your language, and most importantly, bring our daughter Masha so we can travel in a fun, immersive, useful way!

Janet is a lifelong gardener and she loves caring for kids. Walt is a solar engineer, and he's done lots of wrench-turning too, for solar electric installations and carpentry projects. He has worked as a bike mechanic, and he's good at fixing and building things. Walt speaks French. Janet has worked for community gardeners here in Wisconsin and started an organic farming incubator. We've posted photos from our yard, where we have a food forest-type deep mulched garden, and harvest lots of pears, peaches, and berries. Janet speaks Spanish and has been fortunate to be part of education and service projects in Latin America. We're good cooks. We are musicians - we sing a lot together, Walt plays guitar, and Janet plays tenor sax and some piano.

What else ...
It's thrilling to look forward to immersive experiences with our daughter Masha and like-minded hosts! Especially we love the prospect of getting to know you and be useful to your work. We've been helping out once a week at a lovely WorkAway farm here in Wisconsin for the past few months. It's been marvelous ... building mineral feeders for the sheep, making bird houses for fly control, connecting with the animals, using the sawmill to make lumber for a new outhouse. We love living in community, sharing care for kids, living lightly on the earth, relishing the outdoors in all weather.
