Description
Helloo and welcome on our profile. Me and my brother are currently students here in Czech Republic. I’m (Jana) a university student currently studying food technology, and I come from a small countryside village.
After finishing high school, I went volunteering in Greece with a friend through WWOOF – we worked on a small organic farm and honestly, I loved every second of it. That experience sparked something in me, and it inspired me to continue exploring this kind of meaningful travel. That’s why I’ve now decided to try Workaway – to see volunteering from another perspective and to keep learning and growing through new experiences.
If you asked any of my friends to describe me, they’d probably say I’m that always-smiling, sunny, positive soul in the group – someone who laughs a lot, tries to live life to the fullest (or at least tries, haha), and spreads good energy wherever she goes.
What truly makes me happy are the small things – the little everyday moments that often go unnoticed. I believe those are what make life beautiful.
I really enjoy connecting with others who share similar values – I love exchanging experiences, gathering tips and advice, and simply learning from different ways of living. At the same time, I find a lot of joy in motivating and uplifting people around me. That kind of mutual inspiration is something I deeply appreciate, and it's one of the reasons why I keep coming back to volunteering and alternative travel.

My name is Daniel Kaleta and I am currently studying at a medical school. I am passionate about learning and always looking for ways to grow, both professionally and personally. Helping others is important to me, and it is one of the main reasons why I chose a career in healthcare.
In my free time, I enjoy sports such as cycling, running, and swimming. Music also plays a big role in my life — I play the trumpet and like listening to different kinds of music. I love traveling, I like mountains, but I also like the beach and the sea. I enjoy reading books that help me discover new ideas and perspectives.
I would describe myself as a calm, reliable, and positive person. Although I am more of an introvert, I like meeting new people and making meaningful connections. I value peace, good work, and kindness, and I believe that laughter and a positive mindset are key parts of a happy life.Interests

More details about your skills
For the past two summers, I’ve been working in Ireland as part of a summer job program – mostly in kitchens, where I gained a lot of practical experience. These jobs taught me how to be very flexible, as I often had to take on different tasks outside of my official role. It really helped me become quick to adapt to new environments and challenges.
Back home in the Czech Republic, I currently work in a café, where I’m involved in daily customer service, working behind the bar, and waiting tables. Thanks to this, I’m very comfortable communicating with people, staying organized, and being on my feet all day.
I also grew up in a small village, so working with animals is very natural to me. Since I was a child, I’ve been surrounded by chickens, ducks, geese, and rabbits – and my grandparents even had sheep and a cow.
My field of study (food technology) is also closely connected to animals and agriculture, so I continue learning in this area, both practically and academically. I’ve always enjoyed spending time outdoors and around animals – it’s something that feels very natural to me.

Every summer, I make it a point to find a part-time job, gaining valuable skills along the way. One of my first experiences was working in my local village, where I helped with maintaining public spaces. Tasks included sweeping, mowing the lawn, and general outdoor maintenance.
I also worked in a warehouse, which improved my organizational skills, time management, and teamwork abilities. Additionally, I worked as a caregiver in a hospital, where I learned how to communicate with patients and handle challenging situations. This role reinforced my passion for helping others and gave me insight into the healthcare field.Age

What else ...
My brother and I grew up in a Christian family where both faith and an active lifestyle were important values. From a young age, we were encouraged to spend time outdoors, go hiking, and take part in different sports activities – like gymnastics or athletics. Over time, my brother became a passionate cyclist – he’s really into riding and spends a lot of time on the bike. He’s currently studying to become a nurse, which fits his caring and dedicated nature really well. As for me, I enjoy doing a little bit of everything. We both love playing volleyball, running, hiking, going to the gym, swimming, and biking – basically anything that keeps us moving and active. On top of that, I’m also a bit of a creative soul. I enjoy photography, filming videos, and working on small graphic design projects in my free time. It’s a fun way for me to relax and express myself.
