Hello! I am Jacopo Restina and I come from Italy. I've always been interested in agriculture since I was a teenager, and I was inspired by my father while we were working in our little vegetable garden at home. He taught me the importance of taking care of the plants and animals (we had some chickens, rabbits and goats), as they need attention every day.

During my studies I had the opportunity to learn a lot about agricultural systems. I earned my bachelor degree in agricultural sciences in Bologna, gaining insights on the relationships between enviroment, plants and animals.
Now, I'm doing my master's degree in plant sciences at Wageningen University, in The Netherlands. Here I am learning many aspects of agricultural technology, research in plant sciences and the global impact of this sector.

It's been a while that I discovered workaway, but I've never had the chance to have such an experience. As I am close to finish my studies and probably apply for a phd position in the future (I am really into research!), I would really like first to experience what really means to work in a farm.
I would like to stay more in contact to nature and get my hands dirty with some manual work. I want to look closer to how sustainable and organic farming is managed. Also, I feel the need to have a break from my studies and change my life habits for some time!

I'm looking forward to meeting you and discuss our backgrounds further. I'm sure we can share a lot of experiences and learn from each other!

I am an active and organized person, I pursue my goals and I like to make mine the projects that I am working on. I have some work experience, I worked in some farms before, I did a wwoof experience in Portugal as a sheepherd and I worked in nursery.
