New Zealand - from Dec 2023 until May 2024 View allDescription
Hi! I'm Izzy, a 27 yr old Brit who wants to ditch their corporate life (temporarily..), travel and give back where possible. I am travelling Aotearoa NZ for several months in 2024 and what I want more than anything is to get to know people on a personal level and help out where I can.
I'm a people-person, I'm always very keen and I pick new things up fast. I'm a big explorer and walker, having ventured into the Welsh mountains many times here at home and travelled lots of Europe.I am a keen rambler and would love to explore more national parks, coastlines and any of your favourite local walks. I also like swimming and kayaking, which are new hobbies of mine. I am an extremely tidy, careful person who treats everything with great respect.Interests

Skills include: gardening (pruning, conversation, landscaping), conservation, DIY/maintenance, animal care, domestic skills (cooking, cleaning, tidying) and I'm an alert, conscientious person who is very quick to learn and will do so with a smile :) I've also worked in hospitality and currently work professionally in communications, so I am brilliant at any public-facing tasks you may have!
I have my own house in England, so I am very used to DIY, and I have my own garden and allotment.. I'm a keen gardener!
I used to be a volunteer goat-herder and I also volunteered at a rabbit rescue charity as a fosterer. I also volunteered my professional career experience and skills to a conservation committee for a local woodland near where I lived - doing their communications.Age

What else ...
My biggest hobbies are music and technology, although I am focusing more on slower hobbies like gardening, arts/crafts (I work with clay, mostly), poetry, writing and learning instruments myself.
I really want to help. All my life I have worked for organisations that help people, and I really love the idea of doing that on a much more personal level.
I am really keen to explore community, and I love nothing more than talking to new people and learning from them. This makes me a great listener! It's my biggest joy to sit and listen to someone's life story, or learning a skill from them. I hope to repay that kindness however I can.
I also practice bringing hygge into my life, which is a Danish concept of togetherness. It's about creating a safe, welcoming space that you can enjoy solo but that flourishes when you invite people in to join. A mutual sense of belonging and calm. My curiosity means I am always willing to do something new. I'd like to offer more than I take - that's my philosophy. Some more information
