Description
I love travelling and exploring new cultures and am always up for a challenge! Having lived in the Scottish Highlands my whole life, I love the outdoors and exploring (even when the weather isn't fabulous...). My love for travelling truly started when I spent 10 months in Senegal before going to university. I had the best experience being fully immersed in the country, learning their languages, food and traditions. My family and friends always say I'm a big chatter and I love to meet new people!

French: IntermediateMore details about my language interests
I have studied French at school and have visited France multiple times which has allowed me to continue my school French. However, I believe there's no better way to learn a language than by living in the country and being fully immersed in it. Therefore, I'd love to have to speak and listen to French throughout my placement as it would be a good test of my language and communication skills! I also spent 10 months in Senegal teaching English (TESOL) and so I'm very happy to share my fluency in English by doing a language exchange for example.

More details about your skills
I'm currently at the end of my first year at university studying Biomedical Sciences. I'm very interested in the environment and sustainability as I care a lot about nature. When I was in high school I co-founded an eco group to help bring more awareness about the environment to our school.
I studied French at school and then further improved my language skills whilst living in Senegal. Communication was key there as many people didn't speak French or English and so I now feel more confident communicating with people in different languages. I would love to be able to continue improving my French whilst away on a Workaway placement.
I love helping out in our garden at home, taking the dog for a walk and doing general bits and bobs. And of course my sister and I are always roped in to help with cooking, cleaning and gardening when we visit our grandparents!
Although I've never done a WorkAway before I'm still incredibly keen and excited about the prospect of one and would love to be able to gain some experience in a new place. I'm always very open to trying new things so am very happy to try any jobs, whether I've done them before or not. If you're looking for an enthusiastic, interested volunteer then I'd love to hear from you! ☺️

What else ...
I am a big family person and love to spend time with other people, whether that's going for a walk, playing board games or just sitting and chatting! I enjoy going for runs, bike rides, outdoor swimming and rock climbing. I've grown up with a dog so always love having a dog around the house.
