Hi hosts!

I'm Isabel, 30 from England. I live in Isumi, Japan with my husband and our cat Haku.

I have a degree in psychology and worked as an English (TEFL) teacher in South Korea and China, before living in Nepal for a while and then moving to Japan.

I've explored 31 countries so far and have done a lot along the way. Most of my work has been in teaching and hospitality. I currently help my husband's parents with their business, growing fig trees and making fig cakes and other delicious fig treats :)

I have a lot of hobbies and interests, including hiking and mountaineering, swimming and snorkelling, gardening and exploring nature, reading, photography, art and crafts, spirituality, philosophy and astronomy etc. I also like learning new languages.

As a person I believe I'm easy going, open minded and reflective. I'm an introvert but like socialising with like-minded people. I can work well both as part of a team and independently once guidance has been given. I love meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures, hearing their life stories and sharing mine.

I was vegan for 5 years. After moving to Japan my diet has become more flexible, but I'm still health conscious and have interest an in animal rights and sustainability.

On my upcoming travels and Workaway experiences, I'm interested in volunteering at temples/meditation centres and at animal rescue shelters.
