Hi! I'm Hannah, 28, originally from Austria but spent the past ten years living in the UK and Germany. I am trained as a structural engineer and have spent the past four years working for an engineering consultancy. I am extremely excited to be taking a Sabbatical year where I will be travelling South America for six months before heading to back to Scotland to work on some rewilding projects.
Through my work as an engineer I have a great understanding of the built environment and am looking to use and share my knowledge in a more hands-on matter by getting involved in local projects.
I would describe myself as a very active person and love running, going to the gym but really spend most of my time playing ultimate frisbee. When I am not working I love exploring nature and cooking and baking. I am excited to learn new things and want to reconnect with nature after living in a big city the last years. My love for food has got me thinking about where our food comes from and peaked my interest in permaculture. I am looking for hands-on work where I can learn about local natural resources.

I am travelling South America in order to improve my Spanish. After learning in school growing up and refreshing my knowledge for three weeks in Spanish school in Bolivia I want to practice as much as possible! I grew up speaking English and German and am up for sharing and practicing.

With my experience as a structural engineer I have a large array of technical skills and understanding of the built environment. I am happy to get involved in hands-on projects, give technical advice and also help out with any computer/ programme work. However, ideally I would love to do more manual labour - building projects, garden/ farm work, etc.

I spent about a week in Dionny’s lovely home :) The work varied from working on the corn fields to helping around the house.
