Description
I currently work as museum/ fine art framer and antiques restorer which I absolutely love.
I work in a traditional workshop practicing carpentry, carving, gold leaf gilding, paint restoration, plaster work.
I am very meticulous in my work and I have a natural affinity for crafts.
I also paint and sculpt when I am not in my workshop.

Living on the UK's South Coast I am lucky enough to spent a lot of time in the water and our beautiful beaches, whilst also being surrounded by the amazing landscapes of the South Downs.

Having visited some amazing countries already, I am now looking now to start a new adventure in my life - to learn different skills and to experience different experiences by really immersing myself in different cultures!

I am a keen musician having taught myself to play guitar so I could then go on to study music at college and perform around the area with my band.

I also have qualifications in Archaeology and Classics (a bit of a history geek!)
I like to think of myself as very a friendly, polite, creative and positive person.
I’m no stranger to hard work!
I love being surrounded by animals, the ocean and nature.

I couldn't have asked of for a better first workaway experience. I only spent 3 weeks here with Lourdes but I loved every moment! This family have showed me such kindness and hospitality that I truly felt like I belonged there. I was quite nervous when I first arrived but that soon went when I started talking with Lourdes and Noa as they really… read more make you feel at ease with their genuine friendliness! They were very caring and always made sure I was okay. I spent my first week sharing Noa's room with her and it soon became like a girly sleepover every night with lots of laughs, scandalous stories and plenty cups of tea! She is so cool and so so sweet and and generous especially to share her room with a complete stranger/weirdo like me haha! I hope to visit her in Madrid one day! Lou has inspired me and made me laugh (and cry!) with her touching stories and words of wisdom. She is a rare and strong woman whom I am so glad to have crossed paths with.
The work for me didn't even seem like work at all as I love painting and there was lots of it to do!! I painted the garage walls and steps with Noa and later I gave an old wardrobe a makeover by painting it chic black!
It is an easy going and laid back household where you can take your time in the mornings and there is always a job for someone! I unexpectedly ended up participating in a photo shoot for Lou and her niece Deva which didn't quite turn out to plan but was memorable and hilarious at the time none the less!
I also had the pleasure of looking after some adorable puppies during my stay as well as Blue the Aussie dog, Tommy the cat and the chickens.
I had a lot of free time where I went for hikes, explored some abandoned villages, vulture spotting or sat with a book in the sun! Lourdes also patiently taught me how to make the most beautiful bracelet which I now cherish!
We also went out for a lovely meal in Ainsa and I had the chance to try some traditional local dishes which were very yummy! On my last few days Lou's friends son Pau kindly took me out and showed me some cool places around the area, I especially loved the Cañón de Añisclo - it is truly magical!

I was sad to have to return to the UK early but I am already planning to come back. I can't recommend this place enough, yes the views are breathtaking and yes the house is spectacular but it's the amazing people inside that house that have made this experience for me.
