Description
I am Gabriele Lai, a 24 year old Italian student who has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and will begin a Master’s degree in Business and Management in September, with a focus on environment and sustainability.
I am deeply interested in environmental sustainability dynamics and in understanding how communities can develop in a more responsible and inclusive way. For this reason, I am motivated to take part in a volunteering experience that allows me to actively contribute while continuing to learn.
I am also driven by a strong desire to help people in difficulty and to engage in meaningful social initiatives. In my hometown, I have already volunteered at the CEAS (Environmental Education and Sustainability Centres), where I gained experience in environmental education and developed a greater awareness of sustainability issues.
I see volunteering as an opportunity for personal and cultural growth, as well as a way to make a positive impact within a community. -

I have developed a diverse set of practical, interpersonal, and organizational skills through both volunteering and personal experiences.
I volunteered at a CEAS (Environmental Education and Sustainability Centre), where I gained experience in environmental education and learned how to engage with the community on sustainability-related topics.
I am a black belt in Taekwondo, and for four years prior to starting university I supported my father as a Taekwondo coach. In this role, I mainly worked with children aged between 4 and 12, developing strong communication, patience, and leadership skills.
I have also completed two au pair experiences, taking care of children and managing daily responsibilities, which strengthened my adaptability, sense of responsibility, and ability to work in different cultural environments.
In addition, I am skilled in manual work and enjoy building and fixing things. I have experience working with wood and carrying out electrical tasks, which makes me practical, resourceful, and comfortable with hands on activities. -

A relatively quite guy who mainly kept himself to himself.
This was Gabriele first experience with working with animals, and on a number of occasions, he felt uncomfortable as this was outside his comfort zone.
