Travelling
Description
Throughout my life thus far, I have found that I am my happiest when I traveling. The word traveling can be subjective. For me, it can mean visiting somewhere that allows me to learn new things, to experience something either completely unique to me, or to revisit someplace that has brought me peace in the past. It can occur in a country thousands of miles away or in my hometown.
I was born in Asheville, North Carolina in the United States, and I spent a lot of my formative years exploring the forests around my home. I spent my summers at camp, navigating lakes and rivers and mountains, and my school years yearning to be outside exploring and daydreaming about traveling beyond my own backyard.
Ultimately, for me, traveling means adventure, a place to turn when my life becomes mundane and I need to move, to diversify. This kind of movement and disruption can be scary and uncomfortable, but it's what motivates and inspires me. There is nothing like the feeling of making a connection with a stranger over a small similarity you share, or of seeing a beautiful natural phenomenon that only exists in one certain place. Of trying something completely new and succeeding at it, or failing at it and working to get better.Interests

I am 23 years old and in good shape. I work out regularly (running, weightlifting, hiking, swimming), so I am able to assist with physical labor. I have worked on roofing projects multiple times (shingling, painting, repairing) and have done some yard work (weeding, digging, hauling plants). I am a relatively competent houseworker and cook, so I am willing to assist with any kind of small housework or chores that need to be done. I am in my 8th month au pairing for two children in Paris, France and love working with kids and animals. I spend lots of time outside, so I am used to working in various weather conditions. I have spent some time abroad and enjoying communicating with and meeting new people
I am a quick learner and a hard worker. I studied journalism and English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, so I am also able to assist with any kind of marketing, writing, or copywriting work that needs to be done if that is needed.Age

What else ...
I love to be active, so I spend a lot of my time on the move. This could be anything from running (I recently ran a marathon), to taking a workout class, to snorkeling, to biking. I grew up in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, so I spent most of my summers hiking and backpacking with my friends and at summer camps.
I am also a big reader, so I love to read and discuss books with my friends and family. I have dabbled in photography before and I'm interested in learning about different kinds of cameras and discussing photography. I don't watch a lot of TV or movies when I'm abroad because I want to be constantly exploring, but I do when I'm home (my favorite show is New Girl and my favorite movie is The Princess Bride).
I also love to cook. I am vegan in the United States, so I cook a lot of vegetable-based meals (curries, salads, roasted vegetables), but am always looking for new recipes to add to the rotation, especially when I'm abroad.
I would love to be able to develop some language skills while I'm abroad. I love to learn and find exploring languages new to me while I'm abroad is one of the best ways to connect with people. I am also looking to explore the natural landscape as much as I can. I'd love to be able to hike and swim in the locations I work near and be able to engage with the wildlife as much as possible. Some more information
