Hej! My name is Emely, I am from Germany and just finished a semester studying abroad in Denmark. I am currently traveling through Sweden by train and would love to stay here a little longer, build connections and contribute in a meaningful way!
I had my first workaway experience in Canada in 2019 volunteering with a lovely family and since then have wanted to come back to it. I am fortunately enough to have lived for six months each in England, Canada and Denmark by now and have done some more traveling around Europe.
I am currently studying medicine and have worked a number of different jobs before starting and on the side including in a bakery, as a salesperson for ski courses, in a Covid vaccination centre and in the hospital. Furthermore I am a ski instructor and volunteer teaching CPR.
I love to be outdoors, hiking, climbing, running, mountainbiking, skiing or snowboarding. I enjoy reading, writing, painting and photography.

I have work experience in several different areas. For my first job I worked in bakery next to school. Tasks included customer-service, cleaning and baking. Whilst being in Canada I volunteered with a family through workaway, playing, reading and baking with the kids and helping around the house. I worked for Snow School Sales in Whistler for a season booking ski and snowboard course and interacting with costumers from all around the world. During the pandemic I worked in a Covid vaccination centre handling the vaccine, giving vaccinations and helping with any questions people had. I then worked in a hospital drawing blood and assisting in surgery. I volunteer teaching CPR in schools and also for adults and I completed my ski instructor's licence last winter. I am not sure my halfway finished medical degree is going to come in helpful but who knows?
I am happy to learn and would love to pick up something new!
