Description
Hi! Hola! Bonjour! Hoi! Thank you for visiting our profile! We are a queer couple (Han, 25, they/them & Emily, 24, she/her) who have recently graduated university and are looking for our next adventure through this awesome workaway network! We met at the University of Victoria while doing our Geography degrees, so we share a passion for nature and learning about alternative ways of living.
We are currently in Guatemala and moving up to Mexico in the coming weeks. Through our education and work experience, our goal is to contribute to a permaculture or sustainable farm project and take in the lifestyles of our hosts. To travel, learn from, and share knowledge with others!Interests

More details about your skills
Han is an outdoor powerhouse! They currently work as a trail crew supervisor, coordinating volunteers while they chop down trees, build new cycling trails, and do assessments for Alberta Provincial Parks. Born and raised in the Yukon Territory, Han thrives in nature and is skilled at planning backcountry trips whether it be multi-day canoeing or thru hiking. They also enjoy working with children, and have held jobs rallying kids in outdoor education programs! At home, Han can be found making their own clothes, crafting kombucha or tending to our little apartment garden.
Emily followed her passion for the outdoors to Banff National Park, working for Parks Canada supervising students in busy tourist environments. Currently a server, she has worked in hospitality for years and loves the social aspect of connecting with people from all over the world. Emily is skilled in teamwork, communication and organization that lets her adapt to busy work environments or community projects. She’s happiest in the mountains - backcountry hiking, camping, and studying native plants. In her down time, Emily is a talented artist and home cook.
In university, Han specialized in Global Studies, building on their travel experience in Kenya and Guatemala. Forever a curious student of nature and social systems, Emily did a double major in Environmental Studies - focusing on Permaculture and Ecology.Age

What else ...
We have done brief farmstays in university on Vancouver Island, one helping a co-housing project install septic tanks and another permaculture farm who were growing nut trees. Han also worked on a saskatoon berry farm in the Yukon.
We love to cook and while not veggie anymore, we love vegan food!
As queer folks, we are open to connecting with anyone who is mutually open to us!Some more information
