Hi everyone! My name is Eliška, I am 22 years old, and I come from a beautiful part of Southern Bohemia. I am currently taking a gap year to travel, meet new people, and try new things. I travel together with my friend Petr because adventures are always better when shared.

I already have a lot of experience with volunteering abroad. In Germany and Austria, I helped in households and took care of farm animals like sheep and chickens. In Croatia and Italy, I worked on farms where I looked after plants, specifically pruning olive trees and preparing garden beds for the spring.

Growing up in a small village with younger siblings taught me to be helpful, creative, and active outdoors. I also worked in a sports shop and as a children’s camp instructor, so I am a responsible person who likes to be productive.

In my free time, I love cooking, hiking, and swimming. I also enjoy winter sports like skiing and ice skating. It is always great to meet people who like Formula 1 or ice hockey too! Through Workaway, I want to help with childcare, animals, gardening, or housework. I am a fast learner and I always bring a positive energy to my work.

I speak Czech as my native language and I understand English very well, even if I’m not yet completely fluent in speaking. I have some basics in German and I’m open to learning new languages if needed. I’m especially interested in Ugro-Finnic languages, so I’d love to start learning Finnish if someone could help me.

I finished high school in 2022 and then studied economics and political science. During my studies, I worked in customer service and as a children’s camp instructor, organizing activities and helping kids.

I grew up surrounded by many animals, so I’m comfortable helping on a farm or taking care of pets. I also enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, and practical tasks around the house. I’m responsible, reliable, and eager to learn new things.

What else ...

I’m competitive in knowledge and strategy games and also enjoy card and board games. I like individual activities, such as cooking, sports I can do on my own, or listening to music. Usually, on Sundays when there’s a Formula 1 race or an important hockey match, I love taking the time to watch and enjoy the moment.

I’m naturally a bit introverted and take time to trust new people, but I’d love to become more spontaneous, open, and confident with others and in new experiences.
