Hi! My name is Eliška, I’m 22 and from the beautiful South of the Czech Republic. I’m taking a gap year to travel, meet new people, and try new things.

I’ll be traveling together with my friend Petr, because adventures are always better when shared. I’ve already done some volunteering in Germany, which was amazing, and now I’m excited to discover Italy – the food, the culture, the nature, and just the friendly vibes.

I grew up in a small village with my younger siblings, so I’m used to helping out, being creative, and spending time outdoors. I love cooking, hiking, swimming, skiing, and ice-skating. I’d also be happy to meet people along the way who share my passions, like Formula 1 or ice hockey.

I’ve worked in a sports shop and as a kids’ camp instructor, so I’m responsible and enjoy helping. Through Workaway, I’d love to help with kids, animals, gardening, or household tasks, and I’m always eager to learn something new.

I speak Czech as my native language and I understand English very well, even if I’m not yet completely fluent in speaking. I have some basics in German and I’m open to learning new languages if needed. I’m especially interested in Ugro-Finnic languages, so I’d love to start learning Finnish if someone could help me.

I finished high school in 2022 and then studied economics and political science. During my studies, I worked in customer service and as a children’s camp instructor, organizing activities and helping kids.

I grew up surrounded by many animals, so I’m comfortable helping on a farm or taking care of pets. I also enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, and practical tasks around the house. I’m responsible, reliable, and eager to learn new things.

What else ...

I’m competitive in knowledge and strategy games and also enjoy card and board games. I like individual activities, such as cooking, sports I can do on my own, or listening to music. Usually, on Sundays when there’s a Formula 1 race or an important hockey match, I love taking the time to watch and enjoy the moment.

I’m naturally a bit introverted and take time to trust new people, but I’d love to become more spontaneous, open, and confident with others and in new experiences.
