Story Time!
In March of 2020 I found myself in Japan at the end of a ski season, with an entire year's planned globetrotting suddenly unattainable to me. A friend and co-worker at the ski resort suggest I consider volunteering in Japan. What followed was eight months of rewarding experiences - sometimes challenging, often hilarious - that lead me to explore areas of the country I had not even heard of before. It was so different from what I had originally planned for the year, and all the better for it. This is how I prefer to travel - slowly, deeply, making new friends along the way.

8 years Hospitality Experience: barista, back of house and front of house, grater of chocolate (please ask!)
5 years Retail Experience: community pharmacy and ski rentals
Can operate lawn maintenance equipment (lawnmower, whipper snipper, motorised weed cutter), and split firewood.
From my previous volunteer experience
Weed ripper extraordinaire: I remove weeds with gusto
Dirt sniffer: I enjoy having a clean domestic space and can find dirt anywhere for the purpose of eradicating it
Odd-task-doer: need to make and jar a batch of jam for sale? I'm on it. Wobbly shelf? Let me take a look. Cluttered shed? Not for much longer.
