Hi! I’m Emi from Japan. Mom to a 11 yo boy, running an online bakery business in Tokyo.

We used to live in New York, US for my husband’s job till 2018. Since then my son and I traveled many places and found out how good for us to experience new places and meet new people.

As my son is an only child, I’m always hoping that he gets experiences to stay with other kids and makes good friend like real brothers all over the world.

Before Covid we stayed at an eco village in south India, and volunteered at daycare center for a month.
Also through Workaway, we travelled to Melbourne and Perth, Australia to stay with local families for a month. My son was having fun with kids in the families while I was doing house chore like cleaning, washing, cooking family meals. Each trips were great experience for both of us.

I love cooking, crafting, meeting new people, and gardening. I am planting vegetable and berries at a tiny garden in my house in Tokyo.

My son is a healthy, friendly boy who loves to play with other kids, good at Origami and programing. He speaks basic English as he grown up in US till 5 yo and went to English school in Tokyo 3 years.

When I was in high school, I stayed with a Malay Islam Family in Malaysia for a year.
It wasn’t always easy and happy to stay in other people with different background, but it turned to be an amazing experience for my life after all. I am expecting something similar for my workaway experience.

I'm traveling with my 11 yo son. He is quite mature as of his age but he still needs care from me sometimes. In case my regular work is not enough because of that, I would like to do extra chore to make up for.
