Hello :)
My name is Dec, I'm a 30 year old guy from the UK.
I'm very hard-working, motivated, organised and methodical when it comes to getting stuff done but I'm also very relaxed and love to chill, meet new people and have a bit of down time. I am a very sociable person, laid back and like to get to know people's stories!
I have a degree in English Language and Linguistics, a TEFL Qualificarion and I'm thinking about teaching in the future! I also speak a little bit of Spanish. At the moment I would really love to volunteer in a school or do a language exchange and gain some experience before going into teaching full time.
For the past three years I have been living in Sweden so I also speak Swedish but now I want to focus on learning Spanish. Most recently I have been working as a landscape gardener and before that for a travel company in Sweden. So I can also help out with any copywriting you may need.
In my spare time I love to train, play football, hike, surf, read, do a bit of yoga, play guitar or listen to music and, without blowing my own trumpet too much, I'm quite handy in the kitchen too.
I love to cook and discover new food, so it would be an absolute pleasure to cook for any potential hosts :)
I'm super flexible when it comes to what kind of work would be required of me, so I'm willing to give anything a go! At the moment I work as a landscape gardener so I am very used to working outside all day, no matter the weather. So I'm happy in the garden doing maintainence and getting dirt under my fingernails :)
I am also lucky enough to hold an EU Irish passport (my dad is Irish) so there is no limit to how long I can stay/work in the EU.
I have travelled around Australia, South East Asia and most of Western and parts of Eastern Europe. And I'm not gonna stop until I've seen it all haha! 😂
