  • More details about your skills

I am a practical and hard working person who enjoys experiencing different cultures and ways of life. My main trade is project management (so I can organise anything within an inch of its life!) but I'm equally comfortable putting my DIY skills to good use whether it be carpentry, painting or general maintenance. I've a lot of experience maintaining and rebuilding bikes (road, hybrid, mountain), of which we have 6 in our household. From time to time I've undertaken voluntary work including holiday let marketing, video editing, safety organisation at a skydive festival, hospital strategy development and putting together an investment case for fresh water bore holes & pumping equipment. I've also done my fair share of gardening and physical labour and maintain my fitness by cycling around 100km per week. I have an English teaching qualification.

I grew up in the holiday industry so I am used to working in and managing a holiday business. I have my own property which I've done work on including building a mezzanine bed, laying underfloor electric heating and decorating. I've worked outside the UK for around 4 years in Cote d'Ivoire, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Australia, The Netherlands and France.

I have travelled extensively (visited 70 countries) and enjoy experiencing different cultures and ways of life. Trips include a one year African self-drive expedition with my girlfriend in a 4WD we prepared and shipped over the for the trip. We journeyed over 30,000km through southern and eastern Africa and had some amazing experiences including getting close to the gorillas in Uganda, climbing & looking into a live volcano in Ethiopia, driving across the Kalahari desert and self-driving & camping in many game parks. I've also journeyed alone for 6 months through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, spent 5 months in South America and 4 months in India & Nepal.

Overall I am comfortable in most situations and can usually quickly pick up most tasks and get on with everyone I meet.
