  • Description

Hi everyone! I'm bikepacking from Germany to Galicia, Spain, in July and August. I'm passing through Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France, Andorra and Spain.

I'm David, a late-blooming adventurer. Not long ago I was a homebody man that didn't think much about traveling or having new experiences. This adventurous spirit didn't reach me until 2022, when I took what we could call my first trip. Since then, although not everything in my life has been adventure, I can say that it's always been something I long for.

August 2024 I came to germany, where I'm currently staying as an Au Pair. This stage of my life is coming to an end on July 11th, giving way to my next and biggest adventure of all: cycling back from Germany to my hometown, a small town in Galicia, Spain. That's mostly the reason for my profile here. I want to make the most of this trip, and I believe workaway stays can have a huge impact on it.

Even though adventurous is something I like to be defined by, it's not the only thing I am. I'm passionate about sports and computers. I've been involved in sports all my life and continue to do so here in Germany, playing for the local football club and practicing jiu-jitsu (bjj). About computers, I'm a self-taught software developer.

I started earning some money at 16, helping out a friend casual days in a construction job. The summer with 17 I took my first job in a small wooden parts factory. The summer with 18 I worked as a catering waiter. The summer with 19, after finishing my studies, I took my first long term job, working in tech support. During those years I continued to occasionally help out on construction jobs. Next year, at 20, I was promoted. At 21 I got my job as software developer, where I worked until 23. Now, with 24, I'm working almost for a year as an au pair.

I'm very independent and can work my way out in different fields. I'm a quick learner and hard-working man happy to learn new things and help in every way I can.

As a resume, I'll list things I've done and that I could do, but I feel confident saying that I will learn whatever you need help with.
    - Software development.
    - Web and mobile design.
    - Tech support.
    - Taking care of kids and pets.
    - Waiter.
    - Wooden factory.
    - Remodeling a garden.
    - Helping out in construction jobs.
    - Helping out installing windows.
    - Helping out in the aluminium construction field.
Please keep in mind that I'm not a former construction worker. I just helped out; I don't know how to do things on my own.
