Description
Moving around a lot as a kid gave me a nomadic spirit and the need to see different places. After high school I became a sailor and spent 5 years at sea, visiting many cool places. This only increased my need to explore more, and so, I've travelled as much as I could, ever since.
Travel has become my biggest passion; exploring new places, meeting new people and hearing their stories, learning about different cultures, learning new skills or techniques. So far, I've travelled to 65 countries and territories.
As well as travel, I'm also interested in history and geopolitics and have developed a passion for the Silk Road and its subsidiary routes that span Eurasia . In 2021/22 I spent 18 months travelling along the Silk Road in the Middle East and South Caucasus (Türkiye, Georgia, Armenia, Iran and Iraq). Then, in 2023/24 I spent 12 months travelling along the Grand Trunk Road across South Asia (Pakistan, India and Bangladesh). In 2024 I also spent 3 months exploring the Silk Road towns and cities of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan). This year, I will return to South Asia and attempt to follow the routes overland into Southeast Asia and China.

I have had a pretty varied work life over the years and so believe I have a wealth of skills and experience that could be transferred to most roles. Since leaving school I have worked as a communicator on navy ships, various roles in warehouses, a customer service manager, an advisor at NSW Government, project work at universities, working on numerous farms and in guesthouses.
