Hi! My name is Dan and I am a 31 year old man who works full time in a global IT company. Since my dad passed away earlier in 2025, I have decided that life is about taking risks and jumping at opportunities when they present them no matter how daunting they may seem at first.

I spend some of my free time watching other travellers documenting their experiences in far away places with completely different cultures and different ways of life, this is something that i've yearned for for a number of years as the furthest place that i've travelled to is Turkey and i was a baby at the time!

The holidays that i have been on have always been about visiting very tourist heavy locations. I have obtained a new perception on life since my Dad passed and I want to be able to see how "real" people live and work.

I have always considered myself a very friendly and socialable person who is always putting other people before my own wellbeing. I always want to help and being part of a programme that helps not just me in obtaining life experiences and new skills, but also gives back to people who are trying to make a difference or just support a person/family who is trying to make ends meet is the biggest positive that I hope to achieve from this experience.

Whilst I have the confidence to travel on my own for the first time, I would like to meet like minded people that i could potentially form lifelong bonds with in the future or simply act as a potential travel buddy for the future.

Communication - Pride myself on being socialable, friendly and an attentive listener.
Historically multi-lingual - I studied German, Spanish and Italian for 4 years in school (1 of those years all 3 were being studied at the same time). I have not used them in a good while but could pick it back up reasonably quickly if given the chance again.
Work Ethic - I consider myself a quick learner and someone who is ALWAYS wanting to expand their knowledge/experience in any given field.
IT - Have worked in a global IT company for 11 years with a plethora of online skills mainly working with Microsoft Office products.
Music - Whilst I don't play the guitar as much as i used to, I still have a passion for it and can play to a somewhat decent level. I have also taught guitar in the past.
Gardening - Have an adept level of knowledge when it comes to gardening and general garden maintenance.
Farming - My partner enjoys growing fruits and vegetables in our garden, whilst I'm not as advanced as her at it, I have a basic understanding and enjoy taking part.
Finance - Have a basic understanding of stock markets, indexes and general investment platforms. Consider myself a very competent person when it comes to managing finances.
DIY - I have spent a number of years improving my property. This has included, plastering, decorating and general maintenance.
Fitness - I regularly go to the gym for both cardio and weight training (3-4 days a week). I also am careful with what i eat and consider myself a very healthy and strong individual.
Animals - I love animals and have been surrounded by cats my entire life, have raised them from young to older age with the support of my family/housemates.
