Description
Hello, my name is Brenda and I was born and raised in Singapore.
I work as a freelance assistant director in film & commercials. Throughout the 9 years of working, I have grown to be both an independent work and team player, able to work strenuous hours in different environment (outdoors, indoors, rain, or shine), a quick problem solver, highly adaptable to any kind of situations.
My job has made me realised that a lot of us take the real small things, the everyday-ubiquitous that are the true moments, for granted. I crave the simple and slow paced life away from the city, something Singapore does not have to offer. Workaway gave me a path towards finding some form of serenity whilst still being able to give back to someone with my time/effort since 7 years ago.
Predominantly I am always seeking to help out on any kind of farms. Working on farms previously and being with nature have made me very appreciative of the different people who have wholeheartedly invited me into their lives, sharing their culture/knowledge/skills and what little material things they could possibly already have. The farm lifestyles inspire me to step away from my usual fast paced environment more, connecting with people from different backgrounds and circumstances. If they could be so happy with so little, why not I the same?
What I have to offer – A hard worker, no complaints, no fuss. Can cook (my friends and family can vouch for that). Curious at heart.
What I am doing when I am not working / volunteering – Cooking, yoga, surfing, scuba diving, at the beach, reading, crocheting, learning how to DJ (latest venture), hiking, roller blading, swimming.Interests

The work here is super simple– on the days I was scheduled to work (usually 3 hours, plus you get an awesome free drink from the cafe during your shift), I would speak to locals/volunteers/anyone who visits the cafe, share my country's/race's… read more
