  • Description

    Hi!
I am an active, retired nonprofit executive (and recent Natural Living Manager) and am looking for new experiences and adventures in this phase of my life! I would like to travel to places that I have not been before and experience new cultures. Life is too short to just stay put! I love being near the ocean and also love nature and the outdoors. I am a hiker, camper and occasional birdwatcher.

I am adventurous but also have a quiet "relax at home" side to me as well. I love to cook, have many crafting hobbies (quilting, soap-making, jewelry-making, sewing and glass painting). I am also a nurse and have certifications in holistic health, herbalism and holistic pet care. I love animals and especially love cats - I adopted a cat in Kenya (Oliver) who traveled the world with me for many, many years!

As a nonprofit worker/executive I traveled to many war-torn and poverty-stricken areas in the world including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Azerbaijan and Kosovo. I have learned much having lived, worked and traveled in so many different cultures! I have also traveled to, lived, and worked in numerous states and spent 2 years on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona working at a mission school. My life has been very interesting, full and diversified, and I am not yet ready to stop learning!

More details about my language interests
I am always open to learning a new language and have been able to pick up some parts of new languages but am not fluent in any. I feel it is important to at least try to learn as a sign of respect when in a new country/culture.

  • More details about your skills

I have many years of experience running organizations, both in the states and overseas. I am very familiar with administrative processes, such as HR, writing grants, accounting, supervision and so on. I also have 7 years of retail and sales experience having worked as an Assistant Manager of Natural Living/Vitamins at a large supermarket chain.

The first half of my life was spent as a nurse (LPN) working in the areas of oncology, surgery and emergency room. I still hold a compact license that allows me to work in many states. I am an avid herbalist and grow many of my own herbs. This combination has served me well in pursuing and using my skills as a Holistic Health Specialist, and in working in a retail Vitamins setting,

I also have many creative abilities in areas like quilting and sewing, making and designing jewelry and creating herbal soaps, lotions and salves.

I am not afraid of hard work and have a very strong work ethic. I have lived and worked in many different countries and always appreciated, respected and learned from these different cultures.
