Hello! I'm Catherine, a 30 year old American who just returned to the US after nearly a year of traveling abroad. My travels began in July 2022 in Western Africa, brought me to Europe for the fall, and ended in South America.

As I am not working yet, I'm eager to dedicate my time to volunteering through Workaway. My professional background is in digital marketing and I’m preparing to go to grad school at UNC to study Library Science and Information Management in the fall. In my free time, I like to spend time outside, write, cook, paint, read, rock climbing, bicycle, do yoga and have new experiences. In 2021, I completed a 3 week Workaway on a small farm in the Oregon and really loved it! I completed my second Workaway in 2022 at a chateau in southern France. I am an introverted extrovert who loves to be around people and also enjoys my independence.

While in college, I had a few jobs doing park maintenance (gardening, mowing, weeding, cleaning outdoor spaces) and harvesting vegetables from dirt gardens and hydroponic gardens. I have a green thumb and maintain a variety of houseplants in my own home. Professionally, my background is in digital marketing and I have expertise in the internet, technology, social media and advertising. In 2019, I spent 6 months teaching English in Thailand to high schoolers. I had various babysitting jobs in my youth and enjoy hanging out with kids, even when there is a language barrier. In my free time I love to paint with water colors and participate in adventure sports like rock climbing, mountain biking and cycling. I love working with people directly, I love to cook, I'm highly adaptable, hard working, and reliable.
