Description
Hello everybody 👋🏻,
my name is Carmen and I am a lawyer from Berlin, Germany. I would love to travel a little bit before taking the next step in my career. I recently finished my master's degree in International Human Rights Law in the Netherlands and have just moved back to my hometown.
I will be traveling to South Korea in September—where I spent a year abroad back in 2020. During that time, I was able to learn about a lot about Korean culture, Confucianism and history in general, and it was truly one of the best years of my life! After my trip to SK, I am planning to visit Taiwan in October, one of my dream destinations, and do some workaway there. I am really interested in getting to know more about the country's history, language and culture—and of course, the food! Coming from a big city myself, I am really excited to visit Taipei but also to explore the country side.
I am really passionate about human rights, history, intercultural exchange as well as hiking and kickboxing ;). I would love to seek a job in the field of migration and asylum law in Germany to help people to get a residence or protection status.
For now, I am looking forward to meeting new people and collecting new memories! I am excited about what’s next and open to any tips, connections, or recommendations along the way!

More details about your skills
I have an academic background in German, International, and Human Rights Law, which I studied in Germany, the Netherlands, and South Korea. I speak German and English fluently and have basic knowledge of Spanish.
In the Netherlands, I helped organise and host community events (mostly meet-ups) for a refugee project. I have also been actively involved with a youth organisation in Berlin, where I organised panel discussions and managed the social media accounts.
I also enjoy practical, hands-on tasks. I have experience looking after children, dog sitting, and helping my grandmother in her garden. Recently, I renovated my entire apartment by myself — from painting the walls to restoring furniture ;))
