We are 18 and 19 year olds from Manchester on a gap year, keen to see different parts of the world, engage with people who we would never usually get to meet, and give our help wherever it may be needed.

Having spent months over the past three years as voluntary youth leaders, we are great at working with and educating children. This has also taught us how to work well in groups, be creative, solve both practical and interpersonal problems, and, importantly, improvise.

Throughout our lives, we have always played music. Ben is highly proficient in four instruments, having played drums from the age of four, later joining multiple bands. He has also spent time as a drum teacher, working mainly with children under the age of 10. Eloise has been singing and playing piano since the age of six, inspired by her interest in musical theatre. Through this, she has taught at many theatre summer schools, performed in shows and aided in the writing and production of plays.

Education has always been extremely important to us. Ben will be studying philosophy and psychology at Oxford in October, and Eloise wishes to study English literature at Warwick. Between us, we have a wide range of academic interests and achievements, receiving the English literature prize at both of our schools, and essay prizes from competitions within both Oxford and Cambridge. These interests make us quick learners and widely interested in new things.

We are both skilled in cooking, having worked in food for an extended period of time and also cooking very regularly and ambitiously ourselves.

We love film and music. Eloise is so good at Scrabble that Ben won't play with her. We also like watching documentaries and going on adventures:)
