Hello from Japan!
Hi there!
We are Yuto and Nagisa, two 25-year-old friends from Japan who have known each other since high school. Currently, we live in Tokyo and Sapporo, two very different Japanese cities that have given us diverse perspectives on our own culture.
While we primarily speak Japanese and are still developing our English skills, we are enthusiastic communicators who love connecting with people regardless of language barriers! We believe that genuine smiles, laughter, and willingness to learn transcend any communication challenges. Through WorkAway, we hope to meet people from various nationalities and immerse ourselves in different cultures.
Though we may not have specialized technical skills, we bring strong physical capabilities from our extensive sports backgrounds. We've been actively involved in team sports like basketball, rugby, and baseball for many years, which has built our endurance, teamwork abilities, and positive attitudes. We're ready to help with physically demanding tasks, gardening, cleaning, or any work that requires energy and dedication!
As Japanese natives, we can also share our knowledge about Japanese traditions, language, and cuisine. We'd be delighted to cook some authentic Japanese dishes or teach basic Japanese phrases during our stay.
We approach new experiences with open minds and hearts, always eager to learn and contribute meaningfully. We're looking forward to engaging in multicultural communication through our assistance and creating lasting memories together. Let's enjoy great conversations and cultural exchanges!

We have extensive experience in team sports, having played basketball, baseball, rugby, and lacrosse since elementary school, which has built our physical strength and endurance. We're confident in our ability to handle physically demanding tasks and enjoy working outdoors.
Having lived in Japan for 25 years, we possess deep knowledge of Japanese traditions and cuisine. We can teach Japanese language and cultural practices to interested hosts. While we're still improving our English skills, we're eager to enhance our fluency through travel experiences and cultural exchanges.
Both of us have valuable hospitality experience from working part-time in restaurants, where we developed customer service skills, food preparation abilities, and learned to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
As former students at Hokkaido University in northern Japan, we developed a strong appreciation for nature and outdoor activities. We enjoy hiking, exploring natural environments, and can share these interests with our hosts and their communities.
We approach new challenges with enthusiasm and adaptability, always ready to learn new skills while contributing our existing abilities to help with various tasks. We believe our combination of physical capability, cultural knowledge, and positive attitude makes us valuable volunteers for a variety of projects.
