HI everyone!!!
We are Aurora and Claire from Vermont going on a travel adventure this September through December. We are off to Europe to do a much needed GAP semester after completing our freshman year of college in not only Vermont, but also Tampa, Florida. We are best friends who share the passion for traveling and adventure. We plan to start our trip in Portugal and are currently looking for a Workaway that can help us live out our dream! Bellow are our individual introductions. If you are interested in connecting please feel free to send us a message.
Hi there!!
My name is Aurora Moulaert and I am very excited about the opportunities this site has brought me to! I am a very outgoing individual with a passion to learn and make change in the world. I want to do this in various ways, one way is through the criminal justice system, one of my biggest passions. In Vermont, where I am from, I work as a legal assistant at a criminal defense law firm. I am very involved here and invested in law as I want to pursue policy making when I am older an further into the field. As well as working at a law firm, I also work as a ski instructor at Bolton Valley, a popular ski resort in Vermont. These two jobs reflect my personality very well as I am a very dedicated, hardworking, intellectual individual, but I am also a very fun loving person who loves adventures and being outside. When I am not working or at school, I spend every free second I can get outside. I love to hike, kayak, swim, see sunset, basically just any outdoor adventure I love. Being outside makes me me and I love to work with nature and the environment. Other passions I have revolve around a sense of art. For me that can be seen in many ways. For one I love to paint, make collages, and take photos. I am big into photography, specifically photography of nature, however I have an eye for many things.
Personally I am a very bubbly individual who is very positive. I always go into situations with an open mindset and a call for adventure. I am an adaptable person who is very easygoing and go with the flow. I am determined and will work hard. I will follow rules and I will help out with whatever is necessary. I love to make connections with people, land, environment etc. I am always up for absolutely whatever. Helping people brings me much happiness as well as practicing meditation, yoga, outdoor activities and more.
Hi fellow Workaway peers!
My name is Claire Rainville and I am super excited about my upcoming travel adventures with Workaway. I am from a small town in Vermont where I grew up and still currently reside. I live on a small dairy farm that once used to produce milk for local services, including Ben and Jerry's. The farm is set on a little less than 1,000 acres, so as you can imagine appreciation for nature has been a huge part of my life. I am a very outgoing person who loves adventures and exploring. I am a driven individual who loves to experience and learn new things. Not only do I enjoy the beauty of the world but I also enjoy the beauty of humans. I am currently employed at a local hospital where I work with dementia patients and people struggling with mental health. I work 1-1 with patients observing and interacting with individuals who need consistent care. Due to the unknown possibilities that could happen each day at the hospital, my people skills have immensely increased. The majority of my previous jobs consist of working in the food service industry where I would host, serve, prep food, cook food, and clean. I have worked in a various amount of different food services where I had many different experiences, all teaching me new skills. I am a hardworking individual with a strong work ethic. When I am not working I am taking college courses at my local community college (CCV), where I study Design and media Studies. My long lasting love for the arts and media have inspired me to dig deeper and educate myself on such topics. My learning has taught me marketing skills, social media presence, and of course artistic and creative skills. I am very passionate about going out into the world and experiencing new cultures, environments and situations as I feel ready to get out in to the world! As much as I love Vermont, there is only so much that I can experience living in such a sheltered place.
Some of my hobbies consist of skiing, hiking, photography, swimming, painting, weight lifting, curating outfits and the list could go on. I am always open to trying new things and I am excited to see what new hobbies I will pick up on in my travels. Some of the things I am most excited to dive deeper into is hiking, surfing, culture, and overall health.
I am so beyond excited to continue my passions through my travels by meeting new people, so feel free to reach out with any questions!Interests

English: Fluent
Spanish: BeginnerMore details about my language interests
We have previous knowledge in Spanish and plan to get better at it. Aurora and I (Claire) would also love to be introduced to other languages and are rather eager to learn a few things here and there. As for our past experiences, Aurora grew up with Spanish speaking parents so she was introduced to it at a young age. She also took French in high school during the time she had previously been to France to visit her uncle. The two of us also travel to Montreal, Canada frequently, we get to practice some French although it's nothing like the French speak in France. As for me, I took Spanish throughout my middle school and high school experience. Along with that I know some German sayings and words because all of my moms family including her speak German. I also have some family members that live in Germany. We plan to visit Spain, France and Germany at some point in our trip, but like I said before, we are excited to be exposed to so many more languages.Skills and knowledge we'd like to share or learn

The 3 1/2 weeks we spent at Sam and Mikes was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Each day brought something new and exciting.
As for the work, you were expected to work 5 hours a day give or take. Usually starting around 10 and ending around 4. The work we did consisted of demolition, cementing, scraping wood, cleaning up… read more
