Activities i am interested in:
I've been traveling around the world continuously since May 2023 in pursuit of learning about myself and learning through the various cultures of the world. ♥️
My next destination:
Japan - from Aug 2025 until Nov 2025 View allDescription
Hi! I’m Apoorva and everyone calls me Mia. I’ve been a full time traveler since May 2023.
I'm a doctor from India, and at the age of 25, I moved to the U.S. to pursue further education. I got my graduate degree in molecular biology and worked in cancer research. I lived in the U.S. for 9 years and in May 2023, I decided to quit my job, leave my life in the U.S. behind and travel the world. I've travelled to 58 countries so far, and I'm hoping to continue my travels till May 2026.
I've done many volunteer experiences through other organizations conducting free health camps in rural India and Ecuador, teaching/creative engagement with kids with Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy and other learning disabilities, and with animal care.
I love traveling and really enjoy learning the culture of different countries, meeting locals and traveling with purpose, which is why I started doing workaways. I enjoy reading and writing, painting and being creative. I did my 200hr yoga teacher training in June 2024 from India and I'm now a certified yoga teacher. 🧘🏻♀️ Since then, I've taught classes in India, Nepal and South Africa.
Fun fact, I love books by Haruki Murakami and because of his books, I started my travels in Tokyo, Japan in May 2023. I ended up spending 3 months in Japan in 2023 and really love Japanese culture, language and cuisine.
I enjoy cooking and can make really good Indian curry. 🙂 I love to write about my experiences and published my first book in December 2024. I named it Japanese Whiskey. It's a book of poems about a young woman's life. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and being outdoors, exploring new places and trying local cuisine. I also enjoy intellectual conversations and learning/ sharing through others opinions. I love learning local cultures, building community and connections. I prioritize taking time for myself to be introspective, learn from what I've experienced through my travels and conversations.
Looking forward to connect with new communities and create lasting memories and relationships! ♥️Interests

More details about your skills
I've listed below some of my skills that I can share/ work with:
1. Teaching: I can teach English, Math (upto high school level) andLlife sciences (upto graduate level). I've taught high school students in the U.S. English and Math, and taught Life sciences to undergraduate students in college in the U.S. I've taught English at a school and high school in Eastern Cape, South Africa as part of my first workaway.
2. Yoga teaching: I got my 200 hour hatha and ashtanga yoga teacher certification from India in June 2024. Since then, I've taught yoga classes in India, Nepal and South Africa.
3. Cultural Exchange: Growing up in India and spending my adult life in the U.S. , I can actively participate in cultural exchange about these two countries. However, traveling in 58 countries also equips me to have wonderful conversations about cultures across the globe.
4. Organization Skills: I'm a highly structured and organized person. I lead a minimalistic lifestyle. I can help with cleaning and organization that works long term. I've been living sufficiently from my backpack since two years that really taught me that you don't need a lot of stuff to lead a fulfilling life while also actively pursuing your hobbies and interests.
5. Cooking: I love cooking, especially healthy meals. I've had a nutrition coach for two years and extensively read a lot of books about nutrition since I strongly believe "You are what you eat". I can also cook a delicious Indian curry from scratch. I think food is a big part of cultural exchange and have tried many local dishes from all the countries I've travelled to and learnt to cook some. :)
6. Painting and Drawing: I've loved drawing and painting since I was a kid. I used to do abstract paintings till college and participated in a few art exhibits selling some of my work. In recent years, I've been doing a lot more zentangle work (freestyle zentangle). It's meditative and gives my creativity a healthy channel of expression. I've also sold my zentangle work at a local co-op store in Colorado, USA for a few years.
7. Story Telling and Poetry: I'm an amateur writer and published my first book in Dec 2024. I'm currently working on my second book which is a collection of short stories. I would love to share some of my work with you and get your honest feedback! ♥️
Apart from these, I can also help with other projects you may need. I'm a quick learner and hard worker. I just request that there be an open communication about expectations, so I can do the best possible job from my end! ♥️Age
