Description

Hello! We’re Annie and Brennen. We are from the mountains in Colorado. We love spending time outside, reading, cooking, and connecting with new people. We laugh a lot, are enthusiastic, flexible, are hard workers, and love to seek new experiences.

Last May, we left our corporate jobs in the USA to travel and volunteer full time. So far, we have volunteered in Italy, Norway, Portugal, Indonesia, and Vietnam! Our volunteering has been work on organic farms, English teachers, childcare, and some handyman work.

We love to explore and want to contribute meaningfully to the communities we visit. We love discovering new places and cultures, and we’re eager to lend a hand wherever we can. We are passionate about learning and connecting with others. We are passionate about food waste and living sustainably, education, and caring for our environment.

We can’t wait to meet like-minded people, create lasting memories, and embrace the opportunity to give back to the communities we visit.

Outdoor & Environmental Teaching: With years of experience guiding and teaching outdoor skills (backpacking, canyoning, skiing, etc.), Annie has taught students of all ages how to care for and respect the environment.

Adventure Guiding: Annie is an experienced guide in outdoor activities like skiing, climbing, and backpacking.

Childcare & Nannying: Annie has extensive experience working with children, including special needs care and as a live-in au pair for five young children in Hawaii.

Teaching & Education Leadership: Taught high school outdoor leadership, tutored students, and tutored elementary and middle school children through remote learning during COVID.

Wilderness First Responder & First Aid: Trained to provide medical care in remote settings and has current certifications in wilderness medicine and emergency response.

Manual Trail Building & Outdoor Construction: Experienced with trail building and environmental projects, using her hands to contribute to meaningful outdoor work.

Public Health: Currently works in nonprofit public health, supporting community health initiatives and adolescent health programs.

Cleaning & Maintenance: Managed cleaning and maintenance for Airbnb properties, ensuring a welcoming and well-kept environment for guests.

Brennen's Background & Skills

Construction & Woodworking: Owned a cedar fence-building business, has extensive hands-on construction experience, and is skilled in household repairs and projects.

Agriculture & Farming: Worked on sheep and dairy farms in New Zealand and Colorado, gaining experience in livestock care, farm management, and sustainable practices.

Childcare & Community Service: Volunteers teaching underprivileged kids to ski and snowboard, sharing his love for the outdoors with future generations.

Accounting, Finance, & Craft Beer: Holds a background in business administration and currently manages finance and accounting for a craft brewery, specializing in budgeting, financial management, and business strategy.

Food Waste Volunteer: Helped reduce food waste through volunteering, collecting surplus food and distributing it to community members in need.

Barista & Customer Service: Skilled in coffee brewing and creating a welcoming atmosphere, with a background in café service and hospitality.
