  • Description

My name is Anna, and I’m currently studying History and Italian at the University of Liverpool. After spending an incredible year living in Bari, Puglia (and falling completely in love with la dolce vita!), I’m now hoping to return to Italy this summer to keep practicing my Italian, reconnect with the culture, and make some more unforgettable memories before starting my final year of university in September.

I'm really passionate about languages, but I’ve found that the best way to truly live a language is by diving headfirst into the culture – chatting with locals, helping out, sharing meals, and getting involved in everyday life. That’s exactly what I’m looking for with Workaway.

On a more personal note – I’m a very outgoing, enthusiastic, and sociable person. I love meeting new people, having a laugh, and getting stuck in with any kind of task. Whether it’s helping with guests, working in the garden, practicing English with kids, or cooking together, I bring a lot of positive energy (and probably some bad jokes too). I’m also quite active and always up for an adventure – be it a hike, a beach trip, or a spontaneous dance party in the kitchen!

I genuinely enjoy learning from others and contributing however I can, and I see this opportunity not just as a language exchange, but as a way to grow, connect, and create meaningful experiences.

Grazie mille for considering me – I’d love to hear more about your place and how I might be able to help!

  • More details about your skills

I'm a native English speaker with around a B1 level in Italian, and I'm always happy to help others improve their English – whether it's through conversation, casual practice, or more structured learning. I really enjoy language exchange and love the connections it creates.

I'm a confident cook and really enjoy preparing meals for others. Cooking is one of my favourite ways to share and connect – whether it's a comforting dish from home or trying out local recipes wherever I go.

Back home in Belfast, I adore animals and have a soft spot for my little Shih Tzu, who I love caring for. I’m always happy to help with any pets – big or small – and bring a lot of love and energy when it comes to looking after animals.

I’m also an experienced crocheter and love making handmade gifts for friends and family – from hats and bags to little home decorations. It’s a creative outlet I really enjoy, and I’d be more than happy to share the skill or even make something while I’m with you!

  • What else ...

I’m a very active person and love staying on the move – whether that’s through weight training, running, or long bike rides (especially when there’s a good view or gelato at the end!). Exercise is a big part of my daily routine and helps keep my energy up – which I usually have plenty of!

Alongside my studies, I’ve also developed a real passion for music and events. I run a small business organizing dance music events at university, which has taught me a lot about teamwork, creativity, and how to keep people dancing until 3 a.m. – not always easy, but always fun!

As a history student, I naturally love diving into the past and learning about the culture, traditions, and stories that shape the present. I’m always up for a good museum visit, a historical walking tour, or just chatting about cool facts over coffee.

And while I’m no expert (yet!), I’ve recently discovered a fascination with flowers and plants. There’s something really calming and beautiful about learning their names and how they grow – I’d love to know more if anyone’s willing to teach me!
