Hey!
I’m Alida from Germany and on a mission to travel the world!
On my workaways I would love to do some kind of animal care/ farm work especially with horses!
Feel free to text me and join me!Description
Hello I’m Alida from Germany, nice to meet you :)
I am currently on a mission to get out of my bubble and travel the world! I'm already over 1,5 years in now, travelled through almost 30 countries with my backpack and will head to Africa soon as my last continent.
During this trip I did 5 workaways which all have been amazing experiences. I spend 4 weeks on a horse farm in Iceland, 6 weeks at a Ranch in Canada and 3 more weeks with a lovely family also in Canada. Then I worked as a tour guide in Torres del Paine NP Chile (now one of my favorite places on earth) and 3 weeks at a hostel in the Atacama Desert.
My native language is German & I am fluent in English.
I also studied Spanish in highschool but that definitely needs improvement. The almost 6 month in Central and South America already helped a lot.
Also I’m really interested in learning some bits of your languages - whatever they are :)
I absolutely love to travel and see new places. Whilst seeing the world I would like to really get to know locals and get into the culture. I’ve got an open mindset and my friends describe me as easy-going and funny.
In general I am very low maintenance. I‘m from a rural area in Germany and used to live on the countryside. During my travels I always stay in Hostels.
Apart from that I have absolutely no allergies, I’m never sick and pretty tough.
I also eat almost everything and love to try new cuisines.
I've got an international drivers license and I am a swimming lifeguard.
I do not smoke and I’m fully vaccinated :)
Feel free to ask any further questions!
I‘m looking forward to hear from you :)Interests

My first language is German so I would love to teach you something in German. I also consider myself pretty fluent in English. In Highschool I attended Spanish lessons for 3 years but I’ve never been good at it and it got lost over time. So that definitely needs improvement which I would like to gain throughout my travels!Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
My greatest hobby is riding horses. For generations my family always had horses and I got my first pony by the age of 8.
Since then I’ve ridden many different horses, mainly in dressage and showjumping, but for me it’s the most fun to just go for a ride through beautiful forests and landscape.
I‘ve also worked as a groom for 3 months in 2020 in a stable of my friend (SportHorses Rudolph) Therefore I’m also experienced with training and caring for young horses, stable work and cleaning tack.
Apart from horses I also grew up with a dog and I love all kinds of animals!
I would love to work in some kind of farmwork or animal care on my workaway!
On the other hand I’m interested in plants and gardening, for example growing some vegetables and cooking delicious meals with them.
I‘m also kinda technically gifted with tasks around the house or a farm. I can drive a tractor and am able to use tools like a drilling machine, saws, screwdrivers and so on. With a little guidance I would love to help with such artisanal things.Age

I wish I could’ve stayed longer!
I went to Kelowna for 2 weeks in November, so I slept in the guest room, not the RV (but I’ve seen it, it’s super nice)
The whole family is multicultural with Johan from… read more
