Description
Ciao! I'm Alice, an Italian 24-year old, Data Science Master's student and Workaway volunteer. I feel enriched when I have the opportunity to learn practical skills that can help others or a community and get to know people by listening to their background and their everyday lives.
I consider myself determined and precise: I think about the possible steps to achieve a goal and I try to solve the unexpected events that may emerge. I have no problem in asking for help and in brainstorming ideas with others.
My hobbies include music and spending time outdoors. I've been playing the classical guitar for 13 years and I love exploring new music and their meaning. I also dedicate time to take care of my plants and to play with my cat. I’m very fond of my bike so I cycle daily and I spend time outdoors whenever the possibility occurs, going for walks in parks and hiking in the mountains.
I volunteer in my hometown helping kids with their homework and my community by picking up the rubbish. In May 2025, I volunteered with other 20 young people from all over the world in a 2-week long European Solidarity Corps' project in Bremen (Germany): we renovated our accomodation and its garden and helped the local community, too.
I had my first Workaway experience in Georgia last September. It changed my life for the better, and I’d like to use this platform this summer to grow both personally and skill-wise :)

More details about your skills
I earned different skills through my university degree, my volunteering experiences and my hobbies - the fact that they're unrelated is the reason why I feel enriched by each of them :)
I earned my Bachelor Degree in Mathematics in April 2025, I have a C1 English Cambridge certificate and a scientific High School Diploma.
In my free time I play the classical guitar, the electrical guitar and I'm currently learning how to play the ukulele. I also help kids with their homework and my community by picking up the rubbish and restoring urban decor, in parks and city streets, in team.
Right now, I'm renovating a family house so I'm earning skills in gardening, painting walls and cleaning.
In my previous 2-week long European Solidarity Corps volunteering experience in Germany "Solidarity meets Sustainability", I took part in team in the following activities: building raised beds, weeding the extensive garden, cleaning bricks with the local villagers (which will be reused to build a pizza oven for the community). In a local educational farm, we created signs through wood sanding, carving, painting, varnishing; we also fed the animals and planted in the community garden. We lived together so I helped in keeping the house clean and in preparing meals, too. I developed the "learn by doing" competence and both the ability to work on my own and to relate to peers, project managers and local residents!

I stayed here in September 2025 for my first Workaway experience, and those 2 weeks felt much longer than they actually were, in the best possible way. I was involved in cleaning tasks: the schedules were designed so that we always… read more
