  • Description

Hello! Most people call me Alex, although I also accept Alejandra, AlPal, Shmalex, or whatever else you feel inclined to call me. :)

An engineer by education, an outdoor adventure guide by trade, I currently work seasonally taking tourists on bike rides in Alaska. My journey started with my first seasonal position in Grand Teton NP in 2019. Since then, I’ve taken jobs and opportunities doing anything and everything—cleaning toilets, harvesting tomatoes, ringing up cash register orders, feeding ducks, performing (guitar), boxing bananas, dogsitting, and more.

My dream is to spend days living off of my bicycle—pedaling from town to town with my guitar, playing music, and helping at homesteads along the way. Winters seem a difficult barrier, but I hope to eventually build out a van that I can return to and hunker down in during colder months.

I am a hard worker who loves learning, growing, and contributing. I look forward to whoever I will get to meet along the way! :)

  • More details about your skills

I have a degree in engineering, but after graduating I’ve been working mostly outdoors—learning and teaching about local flora, fauna, and history.

And here’s some other good stuff:

    1. Handyman work: Whenever visiting my momma I’m enlisted to fix broken things! I like knowing how things work—fixing bikes that don’t shift properly, installing a sink garbage disposal, troubleshooting a broken garage opener—I’m here to help figure it out. :)
    2. Landscaping: I love physical work! Operating lawn mowers and edge trimmers, shoveling, raking, weeding, spreading mulch, planting, watering, moving heavy stuff in wheel barrows, laying bricks. I also generally love working with dirt!!! :)
    3. Housekeeping: This gal has over a year under her belt—cleaning homes, vacation properties, hotel rooms, public restrooms and more.
    4. Construction, Carpentry: Self-taught; minimal experience but excited to learn! I have worked with drills, power sanders, and skilsaws, but a goal of mine is to spend more time developing these skills.
    5. Animals: Lots of dogsitting, dog walking and generally giving doggos love! Also, feeding horses, goats, chickens and ducks—and collecting eggs!
