Hi there! My name is Alec, I am from a little town in the south of England and am 21 years old. I am studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Science in university in Bristol, after going various places across the globe to pursue my passion of nature and wildlife! I am currently in my third year of university, on a sandwich placement year gaining experience across the world. I am a passionate, strong minded and motivated individual with a love for anything nature, outdoors, camping or mindfulness related. I am also a musician/DJ with an electronic music label based in my university city of Bristol UK.

I am extremely passionate about the natural world and environment, and have a particular love for SCUBA diving and the underwater world, and everything in it, and am an advanced diver. I have solo travelled and volunteered across Mexico, a few countries in Africa, the Indo-Pacific and some parts of Europe.

In future I would love to work in the conservation industry to hopefully make the biggest difference I possibly can to help improve our world the best I can. Nature truly excites me and I cannot wait to dedicate my life to conserving it. As well as this, I want to further travel the lesser travelled corners of the world, and see more of what the underwater world has to offer too.

As well as this, I love spirituality and meditation, astronomy, reading, cooking, hiking, camping, DIY, music, growing food and anything to do with the outdoors!

I enjoy getting my hands dirty, being outdoors, camping, growing and catching food. I am an adventurous, risk taking and ambitious person. I can overcome any challenges thrown my way, and am a very fast kinetic learner. I have an infectious passion for life itself, and everything in it and always find a way to be fascinated about the smallest things in every day life.

I have experience in many different aspects of conservation including surveys, fieldwork, computer work, and conservation education, as I taught in a Workaway in Tanzania in 2023. I am currently working with LAMAVE in Philippines to complete a turtle nesting season, relocating and hatching eggs, processing turtles including and ID database and biopsies for genetics.

As well as this conservation experience I have experience doing a remote marketing job for a clinic working to improve peoples sleep, managing their social media marketing, email marketing, finding leads and doing research into the sector to get contracts. I have had multiple bartending jobs across a range of settings, including leadership/management roles in this, with great talking and leadership skills as I represented my wider university course to discuss contracts with zoos in my area for them.

I am very creative and love drawing, painting and anything to do with arts, as well as being an experienced DJ/beginner producer in my university city Bristol playing in clubs/raves across the city, and starting a drum and bass label in 2024, Iridus Audio.
