Description

Hi people, I am Anke from Germany, currently living in Vienna! Traveling is the greatest gift ever given to me. I love meeting new people, connecting with them and their culture and their nature. I am a biology student and love exploring all kinds of environments. After finishing my studies, I want to work in the environmental conservation field, researching on solutions for all kinds of climate change problems. Being able to explore the world brings me the greatest happiness and I want the same joy for future generations!
As a little girl I started horseriding and have been head over heels for horses ever since. I am used to stable labor and looking after animals, whether it be horses, dogs or rabbits. I love animals and really enjoy working with them. I also really like food (who doesn't) and love cooking, especially working out vegan recipes. While traveling, one of the greatest pleasures for me is trying and enjoying all the local food. However, my favorite pastime is hiking and discovering the beautiful nature around me. I also like riding my bike, climbing and skateboarding, although I still have a lot to learn in the latter two. One day I want to learn how to surf and I also would love to get a diver certification.
My friends would describe me as a very spontaneous person, always up for anything. In my experience, the best memories come from the most spontaneous decisions. I hope I'll make some great memories with Workaway!

More details about my language interests
I speak German and English fluently and Spanish and French to some extent. Learning new languages is really important to me, and whenever I am traveling I try to at least learn some basic expressions in the native language. In the future, I would love to live a longer period of time in a french-speaking and spanish-speaking country in order to improve my language skills, before then learning new languages.
