Description
Hi!
I'm looking to live and work abroad in many different settings!
Most likely I will be looking for organic and sustainable farms. I am super interested to further my skills and knowledge in agroecology, small scale farming, botany, permaculture and organic farming on any scale. I aspire to live a sustainable and simpler lifestyle, which is centred around nature and community.
I would also love to learn other skills such as woodworking, natural building, working with animals, etc. I am generally keen to learn and give anything a go!
I consider myself as a friendly and outgoing person. I have experienced a communal way of living and thrive in this environment. I also enjoy the outdoors and value working outside. Overall I kinda just love food be it growing, cooking or eating.
Ive done a few workaways and wwoofs before. In early 2022 I spent nearly two months on a market garden in Mimizan France doing a large range of jobs such as: bed clearing, bed preparation, ground cover with manure and straw, direct seeding, planting, harvesting. I was basically getting the market garden ready after winter for the high season. I also took part in selling the produce once every two weeks at the local outdoor markets. I was also involved with the building of their barn and house. We helped with roofing, tiling, building a timber frame and some concreting.
I just finished a seasonal job on an 25 acre organic vegetable farm in Wiltshire England. This was my first paid farming job and introduced me to a lot of machine work I had no experience with before. I learnt how to use various implements for different tractors but I certainly have a long way to go with it all!!
I also just did some sheperding in Israel!!
I am very keen to start working on a farm again and further my knowledge! Most of all I want this to be in a more community orientated and or just social environment.
To anyone else who is looking at my profile I am also super open to other types of workaways, be it in a hostel, as an aupair or anything really.Interests

I am a very outgoing person and have lots of experience in the service industry. This means I am more than happy in tourist facing roles. I've worked in a Butchers for 4 years initially doing cleaning and then serving in the shop, helping and conversing with customers etc. It is fair to say I am good at cleaning and washing up. I have also worked in the hospitality industry as a barman.
I have some experience in farming as I worked for a no dig market garden in Scotland for 7 months. I worked the peak season in the garden carrying out a range of jobs from building beds, woodchipping, propagation, transplanting, direct seeding, irrigation, harvesting and packing. I also helped in their seasonal restaurant as Kitchen Assistant which involved basic food preparation and cleaning etc.
As mentioned above I also have experience farming on larger scales farms as well. I recently finished working on a 25 acre Organic farm in Wiltshire England. New skills I acquired here mainly relate the usage and maintenance of tractors and machinery. Obviously I was involved with all other aspects of the farm from propagating to picking and packing but in a much more high pace and commercial environment which has really pushed me towards being a commercial grower. This included some administration, lots of growing and taking produce to market. I also took on more responsibility than I have on previous farms and really became part of the growing team contributing to decision making and problem solving.
Over lockdown, I converted a campervan and so this has given me a basic working knowledge of 12V electronics and wood working etc.
On top of this I am willing to give nearly everything a go and I can pick things up fairly well.Age

What else ...
I like to play racket sports like tennis and badminton. I love the outdoors and camping/ hiking. I was a scout until i was 18 and enjoy cooking on open fires etc. Finally, I also play the guitar but only as a bit of fun. On top of all this I've started surfing and this is something I want to pursue further. I really want to do some of these things more consistently!! Ive also recently become a fairly avid reader. Finally I love having deep chats about life and different philosophies and approaches. I also enjoy discussions about current affairs and ideologies etc. Anything that bends the mind!! :)
