Hi, my name Is Yara,
I was born in Belgium but grew up and live in Western Australia!

After graduating from high school, I gained some experience in hospitality and digital marketing and started planning my future travels as it has always been a passion of mine.

A bit about me is that I am an adventurous and outgoing person, I love to be active and be outdoors, hiking and the opportunity to embrace different cultures and languages is something I love to do and why I travel. I am an animal lover and have a passion for the arts, performing, and singing.

Until now I mainly used Worldpackers to build some experience and hope to gain more in Europe from March onwards.

I wish to see the hidden gems of every place and I am a dedicated worker, always happy to help and learn new things so I am super excited to see what opportunities come as I start to travel Europe in March 2024.

I am a fast learner, eager to develop new skills and always happy to help out. I am a dedicated / committed worker and problem-solver. I build my skillset in previous jobs, such as:
- Housekeeping: I worked as a housekeeper in a B&B called ‘Pelicans Rest’ in Shoalwater, WA, were I learned standard cleaning such as making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and mopping floors. I also worked in a hostel as a housekeeper cleaning rooms and taking care of the kitchen.

- Restaurant and café experience: I worked in 3 different cafes; I started off in a Muffin Break and then move to a Coffee Club where I was a barista making coffee and had daily tasks such as picking up phones, serving customers, food preparation, cleaning the store at night, and washing dishes. The last half year I have been working in an upmarket restaurant called ‘Latitude 32’ where I learned silver service and practiced higher standard food service and drink preparation behind a bar. I am certified in serving alcohol in Western Australia.

- Management Events: I worked at an event company, named Keos Events, for 3 years where I managed teams, did event planning, and event set up, which taught me valuable skills in management and organization. I was subsequently hired by another event company called Perth Bouncy Castles as an advisor and did some administration training.
- I am also certified in digital marketing and have done some advertising and managed socials for other brands and companies.

- Volunteer work: I volunteered at a not-for-profit Home and Community Care Service for cleaning and gardening including mowing lawns, cleaning and maintenance, and other yard work.

I defiantly have a love for animals, I have 2 fluffy cats with big personality's that I love, and I house sat for a family and took care of a beautiful dog that was the highlight of my days and would like to do more of that in the future.
