Description
We are two 19-year-olds looking to spice up our gap year through volunteer work somewhere in Europe. Workaway seems like an interesting way to experience new cultures and gain wholly different travelling memories, since we already have quite a lot of experience with "normal" vacation travelling. We are interested in various projects such as animal care, gardening and household maintenance. Getting our hands dirty is certainly no problem for us. Our most important values are respectfulness, caring for nature and kindness towards all beings. We love learning new things about the world and also ourselves. Besides working, we are also looking forward to getting to know our surroundings via exploring nature and learning about the culture.

More details about your skills
Vivian:
I started going to horse riding lessons when I was 10 years old, therefore I know how to handle horses. I have worked as a customer service worker for 2 years now, I love helping & being around people! I am interested in biology and psychology and planning to apply to university in spring 2026. I have volunteered in children's camps and spend many summers working at a stable. In those environment's I have learned to work hard whether the sun was shining or it was raining. I am very optimistic person and my special skill is to find silver lining in whatever life throws at me! :) I like to knit, crochet, paint, read books and play piano, I'd say I am pretty creative overall.
Silva:
I have developed quite good customer service skills while working at an ice cream kiosk for two summers. A couple years ago I also worked at children's camps and was able to learn a lot about communication with both children and adults. My hobbies include horseback riding, crocheting, art projects and various sports. As a person I am very nature-loving, deep-thinking and trying to be funny. After my gap year I am going to apply to veterinary school since I love working with animals. In the future I would also love having a small farm of my own, housing animals like dogs, horses and goats.
We are fast learners and always motivated whatever we do! With some assistance we will be able to handle many different tasks. :)

What else ...
Both of us have years' worth of experience in horseback riding and work around the stables, which we would love to put to good use. We are also very crafty people and love working with our hands. Partying and drinking are definitely not our things, we love the peace and quiet of nature and the calmness that comes from working with animals. Typical Finns, we can come off as a little introverted at the start but we still love getting to know new people and connecting with others :)
