Description
Hi! I hope this message fins you well! Let me introduce myself! I am Virginie and I come from Belgium, (yes the country of French fries, chocolate, Stromae, etc.).For the time being, I experienced three different AMAZING workaways and I am still eager to learn more about myself, different cultures, new people, other ways of thinking!
- 🎓 I have a Master in Germanic languages (English and Dutch) + graduated as a teacher
- 🏊♀️🎨📚🎬🚲🎶🥾🐾I have several passions: swimming, drawing, reading, writing, listening to music, hiking, singing, animals, nature… and I love the outdoor (I have been risen in my grandparents’ farm when I was a child, cool isn’t it?) ! I practice sport minimum 3 times a week for the moment, I have a healthy lifestyle.
- ☀️ I am known for being extrovert, open-minded, full of energy, funny, sportive, independent, self-reliant, positive and curious. Moreover, I deeply believe that communication is significant when living with others.
- I am currently taking a gap year after my graduation in order to breathe, discover the world, new cultures, new people but also (and more importantly) to improve the languages I have learned so far (English, Dutch and German)
- I already travelled in different countries with some friends and my family (Malta, Italia, Budapest, Tunisia, France, Portugal, …).
Pieces of information regarding my workaway experiences:
- First workaway in Finland: au pair with two lovely children
- Second workaway in Swedish Lapland: sleddogs
- Third workaway in Norway: campsite + restorationInterests

Regarding my experiences:
- As I have a Master (and Bachelor) in Germanic languages (English and Dutch) and I will be soon graduated as a teacher, I gave language (private) lessons at school/ home/ summer camp.
- As I lived in a farm, I know what working means, I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty!
- As I am a creative person, I also like craft, drawing, etc. I learn really fast.
- I worked in different areas when I was a student in order to acquire loads of skills: notary clerk, IT department, grocery store, restaurant, insurance call centre, secretary, events,…
- As I am living with my parents, I am used to do inside and outside household chores
- As I am a very curious person, I am eager to learn some new skills and discover other “world” and broaden my knowledge
- As I think it's important to be proud of yourself and what you've achieved, here's a ‘list’ of things I consider to be small victories
o I've given my voice to children's songs
o I’ve sold some of my drawings
o I was asked to do a comic strip
o I prefer to buy things at second-hand stores
o I was offered a teaching position on the first day of my placement
o I get on very well with children
