Hey there!

We're a Swiss(French)/German couple planning to spend all of August in Ireland. We're taking our bike, a tent and lots of energy with us!

Since we don't want to spend all of our time on the bike, we'd love to visit your place and work with you for a few weeks!

Both of us are students: Jeanne is doing her master in psychology and Moritz is finishing his bachelor in human computer interaction. We're easy going, open and ready to learn!

We both have worked in many different areas and are a quick study. Jeanne has done a lot of camps with kids and is highly proficient in horse riding. Moritz is also good with kids and animals, and serves well as a carpenter and handyman. He knows his way around anything computer related. We both don't fear physically demanding work.
We're also teaching German to a French student and would love to exchange our language skills with you!
Both of us like to cook (mainly vegetarian) and to discover new recipes. We feel at home outside and know our way around a garden and animals.

We had moritz and Jeanne come and stay with us for about a week. We found them to be so easy going and hard working. They went above and beyond for us. Every thing i asked them to do they did enthusiastically and more. Our windows have never been so clean! We would love to have them back Any time

I stayed at Alessandro's villa for two months from January until March.

He and his partner Silvia are both very open, friendly and hearty people. Even though there was a bit of a language barrier between us because I sadly didn't speak Italian, after he picked me up from Noto I immediately felt welcomed and very comfortable around him.

His… read more place is located on a hill above lemon trees in the beautiful Sicilian countryside around Noto. The complex consists of a main house that is being rented in the warm months and three more connected parts where the Workawayers live in.
The living room has a small but sufficient kitchen, a big table, a couch and a TV with speakers to play music or watch something. In the big community room (with more beds outside of two bedrooms) you can find table tennis, and a lot of instruments.
In winter it can be a little cold especially at night in the bedrooms because the only heat source is a small and smoky stove in a corner. The main house has a washing machine that we could use.
Outside, you have a pretty view over the little valley and a big table to where we ate when the weather was nice. Under an old olive tree two hammocks give you a nice place to read or relax in the shade. Since the house is facing west, the sunsets over the next hill can be quite beautiful.

During the 7 hours of work per week, we were painting the walls and floor of the workshop, reorganizing it, cutting canes around a creek, clearing trees and doing some maintenance work. Because we only worked that little, we had to do our own shopping and pay for it.
The place is roughly 6 km from Noto and there are two bicycles that you can take to get groceries or go to the sea, which takes around 45 minutes. Even though Alessandro could sometimes takes us shopping, having your own car makes it much easier to get where you want to go.
He doesn't sleep there so most of the time we were alone with the other Workawayers and we also cooked for ourselves.

I really enjoyed the few times where he and Silvia took us on cultural trips to see the amazing late baroque towns of Noto and Modica, explore an ancient abandoned church, or showed us wonderful locations in nature.

All in all, it was a mostly relaxing and calm time with a few special highlights.
For everyone who doesn't mind paying for their own food and being rather independent, I would highly recommend him as a host.
