I would like to help with sustainable projects, support on a farm or work with animals (for example in a sanctuary) or use my tourism and service experience and work in a hostel.
Description
Hi, I'm Vanessa from Berlin, Germany and 26 years old. I would describe myself as a very friendly, helpful and passionate person. I am always concerned that my fellow human beings are doing well and I love to support them and make them feel good. It's just a great feeling to know that I can make others happy with the things I do. This is actually something that makes me very happy and motivates and drives me in my daily work. That's why I decided to study tourism management and work in a hotel for my dual study program - because there I could help to make other people's stay a wonderful one.

More details about your skills
In my career, I have already gained a lot of experience in the gastronomy and service sector in general.
I started working in my mother's bistro straight after graduating from high school, where I helped prepare catering orders, did cleaning work in the kitchen and washed the dishes. As I didn't know exactly where I wanted to go after leaving school, I took a year off to work and think about what I wanted to do.
During this time, I worked in an event hall in Berlin and at music festivals. That's where I gained my first major experience in dealing with customers. I prepared drinks and cashiered. There I learned how to deal with stress and also realized that I enjoy working with people.
This year off helped me realize that I found the tourism industry very interesting and I then started studying tourism management.
During my studies, I worked in a modern and well-known hotel in Berlin, where I went through all the departments and really learned a lot. I worked in the kitchen of the restaurant and was allowed to prepare and set up the breakfast buffet, make preparations for lunch and dinner and assist with the preparation of dishes during peak times. I also waited tables in the bar and restaurant and checked rooms in housekeeping, replenished the minibar, watered plants and took on small projects.
I had a lot of fun, especially at reception. I really enjoyed the direct contact with guests and the feeling of being the first point of contact for them. I learned to work very independently here, as I also had a few shifts alone at reception during the corona lockdown. I overcame quite a few challenges, as I often had to find my own solutions to various problems.
At the end of my studies, I worked in the office and supported the events department for a short time. I processed contact inquiries, drew up offers and supported events.
Last but not least, I worked in HR, where I assisted our HR manager. I was the contact person for all employees, helped with recruitment, collected signatures, kept lists and took on small projects. I really enjoyed this work too and I got a great feedback from my manager who told me that she sees a lot of potential in me in this job.
By a wonderful coincidence, I was offered a job in HR straight after my studies, which I accepted. Since then, I have been working for a real estate company that builds and operates restaurants and hotels as well as apartments. Since the Head of HR went on maternity leave a year after I started, I took over the management of the department. During this time, I have learned to work more independently and responsibly than I have ever experienced before. I (currently) look after around 140 employees and am the direct contact person for them. I am responsible for recruiting including onboarding and offboarding, take care of contract management, organize training courses and employee events, do the preparatory payroll accounting and maintain the HR software.
In addition to my professional skills, I am very interested in good food and cooking. I have been vegan for 6 years and love creating dishes with fresh ingredients and trying out new things in the kitchen.
I am also very social media affine and enjoy taking photos/filming. I mostly take these with my cell phone or a disposable camera. My friends sometimes call me their personal photographer as I like to take photos of them when they are not expecting it but are in a good position.
No matter what the job or task is, I always try to do it very accurately and with great attention to detail.Age

What else ...
In my free time, I enjoy meeting up with friends, cooking with them or doing fun things. Furthermore, I love going to concerts and festivals. Listening to the music of my favorite artists live makes me forget all my worries for a short time and gives me a feeling of freedom. I'm also very interested in spirituality, especially meditation, healing stones and astrology. I also enjoy reading, but unfortunately I often don't find the time or peace for it. Recently, I've rediscovered sport - I find sports classes such as yoga, Pilates or cycling particularly fun. I am also enthusiastic about creative activities such as painting ceramics or drawing.
